Lelands Description of jersey

1989-1990 Paul Coffey Pittsburgh Penguins 900th Point Milestone Game Worn Jersey

This important sweater was worn by Paul Coffey the night he scored the 900th point of his Hall of Fame career. The milestone was achieved January 17, 1990 as the Pittsburgh Penguins won a 4-3 decision over the Philadelphia Flyers at Pittsburgh’s Civic Arena. Sewn with his Assistant Captain's "A" on the front is "Coffey 77" in tackle twill on the reverse and a "41st NHL All-Star Game-Pittsburgh" patch on the left sleeve. Inside the collar is the “Maska Ultrafil” tag with his number "77" and the all-important indicator "900" put in by the trainer in faded black sharpie. Also found there is the size "48" in blue ballpoint. The home white jersey displays significant use with a team repair on the right elbow, mild burns on the left sleeve, two stick marks across the front, pilling in the sleeves and salt built up on the fight strap. This jersey shows multiple games worth of nice use that you simply do not find on today’s one-period or one-game milestone jerseys. A beautiful Coffey Penguins example!
